It's really nice to see a professional website for trans people. It's great to combine all the advice with the opportunity to share my own personal experiences with others. What is the best way to do it?
Thanks Judy for your comments. There are several ways to share your personal experiences. The Transgender Explored team are developing a "Share Your Experiences" page. We welcome people sending a short paragraph about their own life experiences and, if you would like, we can post photos you send too! More will be explained under the "Share" button in time, so we appreciate your patience as we continue to build the site. We are already receiving email messages, so feel free to send your stories and comments direct to the team!
i felt (different) from an early age. i was intrigued by certain aspects of both sexes from puberty on. i grew up to with the desire to be both feminine and masculine when i so chose to fil the roll. I have started to take low (womans supplement) of phyto estrogen combined with small topical applications of progesterone along with dhea. i have experienced slight side effects such as loose night time bowl movements and moderate jastrointestinal upset. I'm wondering if anyone else out there has experienced these (side effects) or maybe i caught the local stomach virus that's going around recently. hi to all you beautiful people out there! danielle...
Thanks Danielle!
It is really helpful to get some honest feedback of experiences and treatments. We are hoping to develop a page for each specific treatment, so we can add your comments to the Hormone Treatment part.
Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on.
Happy New Year 2010!
I think this is a great blog, I will be posting with some comments and ques.
I'm a 72 yr old trans person, I know that to go any where with my femininity is little late in life for me but I wish.
It is very welcome to see this site offering information to an American public who seems very uninformed as to what GID is, or that it even exists. I have been 24/7 as myself for over 3 years now, and am currently struggling to find employment where I can be real. This city and state are VERY redneck and discriminatory. I read about other girls in Canada and other places where they are given the medical care to make their transition, as well as be able to be themselves in the process. When is America going to wake up?
Thanks Piper!
It is a shame that there is an obvious lack of services in certain parts of the USA, compared to Europe and Asia.
In the UK, for example, things have evolved significantly, including anti-discriminatory legislation (the Gender Recognition Act), to protect transgendered individuals in the workplace etc.
The USA are pushing forward though too, with legal protection issues and new services developing.
Keep us updated with your progress!
Good luck!
